Australian wheat yields to fall as El Nino strengthens
Doesn't look promising for those of us down under. As stated before on here, my own program has been cut back a lot this year due to concerns of a dry spring. I have no canola and very little wheat in. I am growing more barley than normal due to its better water use effeciency.

Best cash crop? is that a joke?!!! hahaha. Thought we only farmed for the love of it!!!!
Wheat is usually, although with recent dry springs and the price of feed grain being stronger barley has had a better gross margin.

Canadian crop will be down as well. Rumoured to be 20% or six million tons under original expectations. Above average heat and low rainfall totals are resulting in poor crops, liquidation of cattle herds, and a forest fire season in the prairies that has never been so bad. Fire crews from as far away asAustralia have been requested.
