Barbados needs corn?

Wow! The buyers are coming out of the woodwork. Who would of thought, Barbados, a place with beach resorts and a smashing nightlife would need so much corn?

On Private exporters reported to the U.S. Department of Agriculture the following activity:
--Export sales of 100,973 metric tons of corn for delivery to Barbados during the 2016/2017 marketing year; and
--Export sales of 264,000 metric tons of soybeans for delivery to China during the 2016/2017 marketing year; and
--Export sales of 111,000 metric tons of grain sorghum for delivery to unknown destinations during the 2016/2017 marketing year.
The marketing year for corn, grain sorghum, and soybeans began Sept. 1.

NOTE:

Since the start of the marketing year on September 1, export sales of soybeans have jumped 24% from the same time frame a year ago, as overseas buyers take advantage of low-priced U.S. supplies, according to the Department of Agriculture. Corn sales this year are up 85% from the same period in 2015, while wheat sales have gained 26%, USDA data show.

Can the market keep trading demand? Or, do you think these 8am reports are losing their punch?

What say you?

Re: Barbados needs corn?

Amid all of the fresh export sales, rising percentages for the year, the USDA Monday released huge weekly soybean export inspections. Today, the export inspections at 2.867 million metric tons is above the trade's expectations and last week's big number. What's next?

Re: Barbados needs corn?

What should be next is a few press stories on how far from reality usda projections are across the board.

Followed by some serious discussion of why and if usda misleads purposely...

Then a few articles on what the future of production is going to be without the technology money to support the science that usda is basing their projections on??

This is not our Fathers Agriculture.......

Re: Barbados needs corn?

Why is that a surprise? Just like hobby said it's a shell for other countries not dealing with the U.S. Directly. Not to mention any other year this market would be drowning with this kind of demand. At this point the traders have backed this market into a corner. Only option left will be to raise prices so high nobody can afford to buy our products just to hold onto personal demand stock. Hope everyone of them go broke in the process. Finally the shoe will be on the other foot.

No danger of running out of anything till July, except financial solvency.

This one is very different because it looks like both political parties may loose.  But what will be the market reactions if the outsider wins....

Conservatives have normally excited markets with a win.  What do you think this time??  If the broom looses...?
