Re: Big wheels roll'n
Corn. 55 bu
Wheat 45 bu
Beans. 40 bu
Land value $800/a. Realistically
But the rich retiree price (the one that kills off neighbors is 1500/a+
Cash rent $50. Just a guess

Re: Big wheels roll'n
The problem,and its been happening for a while, is that everyone's pet projects get funded first, and then "Whoa, we're out of money. We can't pay our teachers enough without raising taxes" And don't even think about cutting anything else, After all, it's for the kids. We can't "shortchange" them. And so it goes....

Biggest Change the last three years. Acres for beans and cotton keep jumping. At least one of these is nearly passing wheat.

Re: Big wheels roll'n
Property taxes will be a motivator.
Kansas = __________
Boeing(aviation), gas, oil, wheat, irrigation—all in decline or gone in tax base terms.
Politically we have blocked energy development that pushed wind energy into other states, retarded infrastructure spending, opposed industrial agriculture development, loaded more spending on property tax revenue through education that prepares our kids to leave the state.
It’s a bit dismal — the future of Ks with leadership that does not favor industry. Even farms along the border are considering which state they base in. Or buy in.
