Brazil closes its largest ethanol plant
Raizen, the largest company producing ethanol and sugarcane in Brazil, announced today that they will suspend production in their biggest mill in the country in Bom Retiro, São Paulo, for the next two years. The company said that there scarcity of cane stemming from the 2014 drought in the state of São Paulo, which has an ongoing water crisis. Raízen has other 23 ethanol mills in Brazil. Therefore, there will be less ethanol output from here in the next two years.
