Brazil's Farmers Sell Two Crops
I caught up with a market analyst from Brazil, Wednesday. Some real big crops, sales, and prices.
Watch the interview: Brazil's farmers sell record-large amounts of soybeans.

Re: Mike, great interview, good job, good information.
Mike, great interview, good job, you covered the important points concisely. Now we know why China hasn't been buying US beans, too busy buying Brazilian beans.
Not only do we have to worry about selling this coming year's crop, the following year's crop as well.

“Trade wars are easy to win!” Donald J Trump 2016
”Markets, once lost, take a long time to regain, if ever” Jen 2016
There was a guy on here once, who was hoping for a repeat of 1981, so he could buy land cheap - he may get his chance. Be careful for which you wish.

Re: Gullible
There’s a right way to handle trade disputes, with multiple negotiations over time, and if countries are involved, preferably multiple countries all bringing their grievances to the table together, to hopefully reach a mutual and joint agreement.
Then, there is the Trump way - tear everything up that took years to achieve, and go, “How do you like that!” - and shove the ripped up contracts in their face.
And you can delete this, or send it over to the Forum. Because you don’t like what it says. But, you now know it’s true.....you farmers were dangled a worm...and you took it - hook, line, and sinker....

Re: Gullible
Trade wars are easy to win, however a majority of our elected officials have to be on the same page. Some lobbyists and congresspeople don`t have a problem with $100`s of Billions in annual trade deficits. Some 'farmers' have no problem with their country mounting trade deficits so long as they get a nickel more for their beans and imported roller chain 1/2th the cost of American made and $5 t-shirts at WallyWorld. "send the underemployed Americans earned income credit on taxes, free healthcare and free college...give`em everything they can`t afford from working at their less than living wage job".
Those 60" flat screen tv`s at WallyWorld for $298 are sure sweet and can be afforded by someone making $12/hr. But we`d be much better off with 27" American made tv`s that cost $600 and $25-$30/hr wages. The American worker could afford COOL labeled American ribeyes and watch their 27" tv and we`d all be better off.
The Chinese saw we weren`t united in improving our trade balance and a US election coming in a few months, saw the gamble worth taking of "running down the clock". In January things looked good record Dow (pre-Covid over reaction) so China hedged it`s bets by signing Phase One. If the election goes the way it should, China will capitu;ate the rest of the way.

Re: Gullible
Ha - China - capitulate? Don’t make me laugh.
The first phase agreement wasn’t worth the paper it was printed on. And, if Trump was The GREAT Leader that he was made out to be, why didn’t he wait until all parties were on board, before ripping up trade agreements around the world? This is a man with no basis in history, other than his own.
No - sorry BA - like the virus, you were sold a bill of goods from a con man. His “trade wars are easy to win” carries the same amount of water as your, “It’s just the damn flu!” that you were selling for two months, while the infections in America skyrocketed.
Capitulate? China holds the Trump cards....they did all along. You just weren’t smart enough to see it.

Lyin’ BA’s pants are on fire again.
Please show me where any legislative road blocks were placed in front of the trade negotiations.
The Reality Based Community might have been able to deliver something. The Reality TV community, no.

Re: Gullible
And no amount of red, white, and blue, USA! USA! USA! - is going to bring back what was lost.
You screwed up buddy boy, by believing a liar. Funny thing is / you still believe. Just what does THAT say, about YOUR OWN psychological state?
What is that they say - insanity is doing the same action over and over - and expecting a different result?
Yeah.....

Re: Gullible
Folks on both the left and right were growing cool to TPP but it would have been good for “agriculture.”
This thing we created and call “agriculture” is actually the most neoliberal, NWO, of beasts.
The remarkable internal contradiction of agriculture going MAGA was always dangerous.
