CORN AND BEANS

May not be the only thing to be getting a price reduction.

Rumor has it Titan Machinery defaulted on a bunch of new red combines from the factory. Also that the factory is on a 6 hour work day.  Titan has something like 140 stores.

Got to wonder how some of the Deere mega dealers are going to weather the storm of cheap grain prices combined with their new store building frenzy. Tremendous inventory on some of their lots.

Farm credit services is reported to be a little nervous in some areas of the country too.

Re: CORN AND BEANS

Sounds like I better go blow the dust
off the 1-800 phones.

Where are those people that said just 3
Years ago that we are in a new paridine,
That prices would go no lower, due to
Higher population, need for food, etc.

What has happened to all those hungry
People and their money?

Re: CORN AND BEANS

More people are hungry but Obama and the liberals noticed that the farm economy was doing good.  I predicted that once Obama noticed the health in the ag sector it would be attacked.

The ethanol mandate to 15% gone.  The attack on corn sugar by the using the FDA to reject the name "corn sugar" so the left and nuts can continue to blame their fat a$$ on fructose corn syrup.  The attacks in the media showing "rich" farmers.  The blaming of cattle for the global warming myth.  The constant USDA changing carry out  and export numbers.

Why should ag be spared?  It's only Wall Street and the big banks that run this administration.

Re: CORN AND BEANS

great quote -----------

Not to pick on a sentence too much, I totally agree with the point------- The attack on corn sugar by the using the FDA to reject the name "corn sugar" so the left and nuts can continue to blame their fat a$$ on fructose corn syrup. ---------really rang true this last weekend at a community function I attended.  Parade, picknic ing, events, etc.  To borrow a phrase from my cattle friends. "We're putting em on full feed younger and younger."   And the liquid feeder is popular.

Calorie storage is becoming a bazaar art form..    I gotta exercise more than this keyboard.

Re: CORN AND BEANS

The corn crop condition rating improved by 1% in the good to excellent category in yesterday afternoon's USDA Crop Condition Report. The crop is now 76% good to excellent. This is the highest rating for mid-July since 1994 in corn. At this time, it's 10% above last year's 66% good to excellent rating.

The soybean crop rating was unchanged at 72% good to excellent. Bean ratings also are the highest rated for this week since 1994 and it's up 7% from last year's 65% good to excellent rating.

Spring wheat rating wa s also unchanged at 70% good to excellent. This is equal to last year's rating for this week.

A favorable weather forecast remains in place and crop condition ratings will likely remain near record highs heading into next week's report.

Crop progress is a little bit ahead of average now after a slow start to the planting season. The US corn crop is 34% silking vs. 33% average. The US soybean crop is 41% blooming vs. 37% average. The spring wheat crop is 69% headed vs. 68% average. The winter wheat crop is 69% harvested vs. 68% average. After a little bit of a slow start crops are on track with a normal maturing pace.

Re: CORN AND BEANS

Maybe ----- just maybe, we can fund all our retirements in the commodities trade -----and still have room to fund health care.

wheewwwww,  that'll take a little more volatility.   If the chinese won't pay more than the last two years, and the world doesn't need tripple the dollars, we could introduce negative trading to gain more volatility.  Say,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, swings from $8 corn to $ - 4 corn to get that $12 annual swing it will take to fund our future needs.

Maybe faster drops and rises so we can get three runs up and three runs down in the same year????????????

Re: CORN AND BEANS

Sorry Hobby,

usda justification for the trend appreciated.

now with 7 weeks left to export, lets see 30% of that carry walk out the door cheap.  Bean sale has begun,  which is odd--(notice how they reported it as a future sale like it didn't really happen, to cook the books).  It is the higher priced ----- I expected corn to go first.  ------------- Wheat,,,,,,,,,,,, wheat -,,,,,,,,,,, who needs it, no liquid nourishment made from that...

Who was it on here often asking about forage and hay acres?????  Well guess what ------- here they come.
