CHINA AIMS TO BOOST FARMLAND BY 2020 IN FOOD SECURITY PUSH
This headline is from a story by SF. Taken from Reuters. Who probably got it from China's Ministry of Land and Resources.
This headline is totally different than the content of the article which describes the reduction in farmable land in China over the last several years. What China is attempting to do is replace some of the arable land taken out of production. 2 million hectares in the last 12 years. They are hoping to gain back 1.3 million of that loss of reserve arable land.
The article goes on to explain that in continuous arable land locations (the best production areas) reserves of land have declined as much as 90% in 10 more populous provinces.
This is a discussion on urbanization and its effects.
The folks who write headlines should read and understand the content.
The content is actually interesting, and discusses the struggle to maintain agricultural production as they move from an ag society to an industrial society.
Re: China production....??
absolutely true unigrad.... Nearly every thing we read could begin with the disclaimer........... "This comes from a questionable source with some unverifiable content, but it is out there and if you are bored and like speculation here it is".....................
Roaring is right China controls the message, true or false,,,, or various shades of gray.... And as you say "so does the US to some degree."
The web, the phone news, the print, the 24 hr video, politics, info advertising....... the amount of content being read and quoted continues to grow........ let me correct that......... the amount of content asked for, wanted, needed continues to grow to keep the new tech gadgets being sold looking important. Published content dispensers continue to multiply like rabbits.
We live in a world where you can wear something on your wrist that will give you a health update continuously.--- if you believe the content is worth your time --- yet you can't get in a doctors office or a dentist for 6 months-- in many areas, without passing a test to qualify for a appointment.
The public is not doing it's job...... weeding out the deliverers of "Inquirer" content... It becomes a much bigger deal on an international basis.... when economic lives are at stake in the decision process.
Inuendo and claims without verification can even get an ambasador expelled these days..... and they are sometimes all that is offered in a political position at a podium.
The News App on my phone was the first APP to hit the trash can in my first attempt to clean up the "promoted" viewpoints of loose unhinged data. Next to go was facebook and twitter. Nothing to be gained there at all outside of following a friend. All distinctly entainment. Even Trump's twitter bs........... just another old codger trying to appear "with it".
Now in our last days of Utopia we are getting a full blown picture of politicians who just can't shut up and an echo chamber of repeated publishings....that may never be accurate and true.
