China's Cofco Buys Nidera
Nidera is a big grain traider in South America and Russia. CofCo, China's big food company, bought 51%. Maybe Luis can offer some comments on what he thinks this may beam to South American grain trading.

Re: China's Cofco Buys Nidera
China is the engine behind beans, and will remain so.
Up til now China has bought the vast majority of its corn supply from the US. I don't think that will change very quickly.

Might want to check on who owns Gavilon grain too. That is the combo of Conagra and De Bruce. And no it isn't the Japanese anymore.

Re: China's Cofco Buys Nidera
fwiw mr palouser - The primary source of corn for China, is it itself.
13/14 they produced ~217mmt, imported 5 mmt., less than 2.5%
nificant
They also are large wheat and soya growers., onlly at the margin are
they significant exporters/importers.
