Chinese Cut Wheat Price

Did you see the front page or email story where China is reducing their minimum price for wheat?  Apparently they have a lot in storage and need to reduce the stockpile, so they're lowering the price they'll pay farmers, which might result in a year or two in smaller stockpiles.

Will this help US wheat farmers if Chinese farmers grow less wheat?

Re: Chinese Cut Wheat Price

This is local news that has no effect on world supply, because it is just inventory management ---- like a basis change in Kansas.....

If the basis changed in kansas would it be on this forum as "Kansas cut wheat price"  ?

But it is trendy now to jump whenever China scratches an itch.

SW -   I just heard on our local radio AG news about this feeding the world business & 2 billion more folks to feed by 2050, maybe we should be figuring out ''' extended shelf life '''  instead ?

Re: Chinese Cut Wheat Price

Using metric tons, and I believe the quoted price $346 per ton, equals well above $9.00 a bu.

Now just how many times, on here alone, I'm told
It's a global market....it's a global market.....
Ok, and my price locally is a bit over $3

Anyone see the irony ?
