Commodity groups and it's getting dry
E30 folks. Wake up. The rest of the world hates us. Might as well use it here.
Again I say these groups have become worthless and bloated. Accountability!!!!
Got my corn check off refund in the mail the other day. Brought a smile to my face. Wish I could do the same for soybeans.
Anyone else getting dry? Ponds are very low and shallow ones are nearly dried up. Profile is draining away too since frost line isn't real deep. Will likely make for a nice spring but it feels like I'm already in rain to rain mode.
Have been in the above average rain for over a month and haven't got enough moisture to even register. Was supposed to have 2 snow storms and both brought a dusting at best.

Re: Commodity groups and it's getting dry
A cool July and August made the 14-17 crop. Period. We go into July on fumes and have just normal temps let alone the above average that almost every map says could happen. Well we are going to find out just how unburdensome stocks really are.
I feel there is an interesting twist coming in the eastern corn belt. Watch around April 21-25th ish time slot. That's a ballpark range when this twist could happen. And by eastern I mean IN and east. IL has officially slipped into the west pattern and will continue to drift further into the west pattern. The wet line is moving east.
Big ?????? Is heat. If it shows up we will see Nat avg slip 10% or more. What's that do to stocks?
O yeah. E30. E30. E30

Re: Commodity groups and it's getting dry
Mizzou, you answered my question. The Successful Farming magazine a few months ago wrote an article about Brazil having the highest bean cost in the world. We (US) have nearly the lowest cost. Then why are the Brazillan's selling more beans into China. The article if I remember stated that the US had a better infrastructure. Brazil was not acceptable. However you stated it is because of traits. Its where he money is just not in our pocket. As far as them owning a trait company, they will exploit the situation to the hilt. BTW, they can buy all the non-gmo carn they want. there is so much not even a dime premium.. Bottom line, somebody is not doing their job.

Fertility rates and transportation. Tropical soils(junk soils) leach nutrients. Study at Cambridge, they will teach you.
