Re: Corn Demand Recovery Forecast/Overall Corn Price for 2011 & 2012 for ACRE Program/NDF

You are allowed to take it out this year if you want. I already have 3 years shot in this thing, so one more won't matter. Just like the lottery this might be my turn.

Re: Corn Demand Recovery Forecast/Overall Corn Price for 2011 & 2012 for ACRE Program/LOSTINIOWA!!!!

LostinIowa- nice log-in name!!!! Are you sure on your statement about being able to take it our of ACRE in 2013 and re-enroll in DP? Also, I believe if there was ever a time to be in ACRE, I believe 2013 would be it. I am keeping all 1,680 acres of my dirt in the ACRE Program for 2013. Afterall, the cost is only 2 cents per corn bushel and I can never buy this type of downside protection on Chicago for this extremely low price. It would be interesting to take a poll on this website and see what percentage of guys are taking ACRE coverage this year, like 50%, 25%, 75%, etc.

Yes you can move in and out of acre for this year only, because the farm bill for this year is an extension of the old bill for one year only and the old resttriction was only till 2012.

Thanks, sounds good LostinIowa, I was curious because of the extension of the Farm Bill, but it makes sense.

Re: Corn Demand Recovery Forecast May Be Overly Optimistic/shaggy98

Do you want me to include the 3 other farms I will own in eastern Iowa too? I will be inheriting these other 3 farms probably in less than 3 years since his health is going downhill, maybe even less than 1 year. They had to amputate one of his legs at the knee last year. But I will wait till I actually get ownship of these 3 farms to include it with my NC Iowa farmland.
