There may be something to what you say. I'm getting my courage up to lift corn hedges this month if it feels like an oversold condition exist. Of course, I usually mess this kind of thing up, but your message resonates with me.

Some people are talking 2010 as an analog year based on high crop conditions that resulted in only a trend yield of 152.
Which via straight linear trend would be around 162 this year, about as low as I can reasonably get to in my own mind.
But also in my mind, 2010 is a very poor comparison as June-early July were near opposite- excessively wet across major regions.
As far as the heat issue, I saw a study that indicated it there were also higher nightime temps than this year.
If it was easy to figure out there wouldn't be people making a living off of not doing a very good job guessing.
