Re: Damage being done?

Yeah, EC and did you see the new 7 day anticipated precip totals with the Tropical Storm coming up out of Texas, over 7" yet to go. Anyone farming the bottoms south of the MN border might as well stop spraying, it will be under water soon enough. This is the link to the site I like: http://www.wpc.ncep.noaa.gov/qpf/qpf2.shtml

Everything thing on the screen is red...thus we are not trading crop size...trading the news of the day...I don't know what it is but it is not good for commodities I guess Smiley Frustrated

Re: Damage being done?

Clearly lower prices are supporting increasing consumption around the globe for all grains, which puts pressure on Mother Nature to continue with the current near-perfect growing conditions.

When will Sal and his friends change their thinking?

Re: Damage being done?

If history is any guide, they will hammer this thing real hard for another week or two, and then we will have the acreage report and the NASS will confirm what MT has reported, the acreage increases that everyone is counting on, went PP again. Then the weather pattern shifts after the equinox and we are set up for at least a rally on "crop concerns"...just the way it happens. I still think the 16th (tomorrow) should matter this year, lower lows are not bullish, but maybe a chance for stabilization that leads to recovery. There really is no need to drive corn down another 30 cents, but everyone runs to that side of the ferry...well rational folks get trampled. 🙂

Re: Damage being done?

Just heard an analyst on the radio who said June report will most likely still be planting intentions especially on beans.

Re: Damage being done?

Maybe more damage being done tonight.....especially in Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana.   Some of these downpours they said were dropping rain at a rate of 4 inches per hour.

Re: Damage being done?

I believe what he means by idle is if you produce a crop from every acre every year or if you leave a few acres unplanted each year to replenish your moisture profile.
