Disincentivizing soybeans? I'll say ... But how does the administration expect to ....
https://www.agriculture.com/markets/analysis/the-market-is-incentivizing-farmers-to-plant-fewer-soyb... Disincentivizing soybeans? I'll say. With $8 beans and $1.25 new crop basis in North Dakota, that's plenty of disincentives. But just how does the Administration expect China to buy an extra $80 billion if there aren't any soybeans? And, that's assuming the Chinese ever get things straightened around enough to even buy soybeans this year.
Let's hope the world economy doesn't just grind to a halt in the next few weeks.

If Phase One removed the tariff on US beans, won`t the rest of the world also be "disincentivized" with the same $8 beans? Soybeans sitting in North Dakota with $1.25 basis verses soybeans sitting in the interior of the Amazon jungle a 200 mile trip on a knee deep rutted, red clay road all to sit in a 2 mile line of trucks and a "dock strike" right when it`s your turn to unload....6 of one, half dozen of the other.

Those long lines to get trucks unloaded , aren't near the issue down there , at $700. oo / month wages - - -
Do farmers down there (Brazil), order bean seed on line - from you know who - with a prime membership ?

Anybody got a picture of 400 ups trucks lined up on a muddy road waiting for an ox to be pulled through a mud hole? 🙂
Seems appropriate here...... But one thing is relevant. With current cbot activity, here in the US, a few ups trucks will have an easy job delivering seed this spring.

Phase 1 didn't remove tariffs on beans.
