Farmer Selling SInce Monday on Old crop

I'd like to know the amount of farmers that have sold since Monday.    I'm talking Old crop

I haven't sold,,,,,,yet,,,but I'm getting a little itchy on corn, I might need a loan and need to show more cash flow for this year........

I am tempted to buy a call back on stuff I do sell though.

Re: Farmer Selling SInce Monday on Old crop

Sold the last of my gambling corn bushels less taht 10 percent if I had any left after this bloodbath  I would wait it's still a long time before this new crop gets in the pipeline. No sense in buying it back not for awhile yet might as well wait for the harvest lows

Re: Farmer Selling SInce Monday on Old crop

Monday my local coop called and offered me $7.00 for my corn. I sold 30% of what I had left. I had an offer in to sell a third of my remaining beans at $15.50, bit missed the sale by 20 cents, but did sell 1000 bu to a local dairy for 15.50.

Re: Farmer Selling SInce Monday on Old crop

I've got a load of beans and 3 loads of corn left. Saw is start to disintegrate Monday morning but didn't act on it. I hate to see a couple grand evaporate but c'est la vie.

Re: Farmer Selling SInce Monday on Old crop

Spud - no, the sale was on Monday in Spencer, WI for the dairy industry over there that is getting pretty low on local corn.  The hay crop got off late, is low in energy and protein, and the dairies are having to supplement to get the rations right.

It was some nice corn from last year.  Was 18% moisture coming off the field, put it in the bin with a low temp dryer and stirator.  Really worked well.  Would've just used the air, but it was a little to late in the season last fall and I wanted to get it down to 14% since I knew I was going to keeping it into the summer.

Don't think we'll even have corn to dry in the area there this year.  It's more than pathetic.  It's an out and out disaster.  The corn is bigger now, and hiding some of the ugliness within.  Still 4 leaves to go before tasseling as of yesterday.  Went and looked at the beans on the property we sold, ankle high, 4 trifoliates and just starting to flower.  Ouch....

I'm very concerned about property values right now.  $4.00 corn coes not support $3500.00 to $5000.00 land in the central WI area.  I suspect that scenerio is going to play out across the midwest.  We'll have to see how this all plays out.  And to think, it all started with a 14bbl USDA report.

Hobby.......how about a fresh update this morning...

looks like things changed a little bit at your local coop

I think that new bid might be telling you they stayed too long at the 1.72 party, eh??
