Re: Feedyard talk — sale day top quality
Prices in Bassett, Nebraska were quoted even higher than that.
Somebody must have the grain/feed available as those aren't headed to grass at that size.
Lotta $ changing hands.
Very heavy dew here today.
Gotta go get combine out of back corner and see if i can get that little patch of rye done late this afternoon. Smoke like haze up high in sky but a breeze.
Not gonna be as easy as last year as one hail and two winds haven't done it any favors.

Re: Feedyard talk — sale day top quality
It took an hour and a half just to get through the 900 lb steers today. Plenty of other sizes as well.
A nice run and all off grass that is getting less green every day.... the heat is back.
They were a little gaunt for that weight(the current term is "green" ..... Perfect for the lots.
The strongest prices were in the 700-800 lb range at Beaver today.

Lots of enthusiasm
I asked "When will fats get to the $140.00 to $ 150.00 range?"
Answer was "You can insure them at $140.00 now, so in reality we are already there. Just not the way we want it to work."

Is that comparable --- What is the risk and cost of feeding them another 2 months and waiting 3 months for the check with a shrink discount?
When every critter over 650 is bringing well north of $1,000 it aint bad?
