Floor Talk April 13, 2021

At the close:

At the close, the May corn futures settled 11¢ higher at $5.80.

July corn futures finished 10 1/2¢ higher at $5.66 1/4. New crop December corn futures closed 7 3/4¢ higher at $5.04 1/4.

May soybean futures settled 7 1/2¢ higher at $13.89 1/2. July soybean futures finished 5 3/4¢ higher at $13.84 1/2. New crop November soybean futures settled 1¢ higher at $12.51 1/4.

July wheat futures closed 2 1/4¢ higher at $6.33 3/4.

July soymeal futures closed $6.90 short term lower at $395.00.


July soy oil futures finished +1.57 higher at 51.15¢ per pound.

In the outside markets, the NYMEX crude oil market is +0.61 higher (+1.02%) at $60.31. The U.S. dollar is lower, and the Dow Jones Industrials are 121 points lower (-0.36%) at 33,624 points.

At midsession:

At midsession, the May corn futures are 12¢ higher at $5.81.

July corn futures are 10 1/2¢ higher at $5.66 1/4. New crop December corn futures are 6 1/2¢ higher at $5.03.

May soybean futures are 10 1/2¢ higher at $13.92 1/2. July soybean futures are 8 1/2¢ higher at $13.87 1/2. New crop November soybean futures are 6¢ higher at $12.56 1/4.

July wheat futures are 4 1/4¢ higher at $6.36 3/4.

May soymeal futures are $6.60 short term lower at $395.30.


July soy oil futures are +1.63 higher at 51.21¢ per pound.

The guys on WHO Big Show mention a blurb about strike price higher on new crop which means speculators figure higher markets to come.  And Don Roose the guest guru asked "which 50¢ move in corn would upset you most 50¢ higher or lower?"  Smiley Happy   I think it was Bob that said he talked to some guys delivering $3.75 corn and they would be most upset with 50¢  yikes, some days you`re the bug on the bumper  Smiley Sad

The zigging and zagging of this "cottontail rabbit market" is exacerbating my sore neck.

Don't know the reason as I don't see a dog...
