On Tuesday, private exporters reported to the USDA export sales of 198,000 metric tons of soybeans for delivery to China during the 2019/2020 marketing year.
The marketing year for soybeans began Sept. 1.
Al Kluis, Kluis Advisors, says that investors are eyeing a low in the energy market.
"The sell-off in crude oil continued Tuesday. This put pressure on corn. Grain traders are becoming more concerned that an extended period of weakness in the energy sector will do long-term damage to US grain balance sheets. Ethanol and RBOB have not made new contract lows on the recent weakness, but prices are getting very close to those levels," Kluis told customers in a daily note.
Kluis added, "May grain options expire on Friday. We have seen option expiration days set an extreme before the market reverses the trend. Continue to watch the daily chart for higher highs and higher lows."
The U.S. production of ethanol hit a record-low, while stocks hit a record-high, last wee.
On Wednesday, the Energy Information Agency released its weekly Ethanol Production Report.
In the report, the EIA pegged ethanol production at a record low 563,000 barrels, down 7,000 from a week ago and down 46% vs. a year ago.
Meanwhile, ethanol stocks built to a record-high of 220,000 barrels.

And what is the record oil thing doing?
Production?
Use?
Amount in storage?
Mike: where the he!! is Issey and his delete and move it button?
Sdhollowhead is trashing marketing. Absolutely nothing decent or even remotely uplifting in his posts.
These uncharted Times of health and financial stress don't need his and jenneys unadulterated TDS.
THE FORUM IS THE PLACE (if even there) FOR THEIR VENOM.

Re: Floor Talk, April 22, 2020
Elcheapo -- I doubt any finger-pointing in the Marketing section was directed at you, and I think most of us would like to keep the primarily non-marketing political stuff out of the Marketing section. There are basically 2-3 frequent posters who seem to be continually stuck on anti-Trump rhetoric, regardless of it's applicability to marketing or often anything else. It's like the election-year mailbox stuffers -- a bunch of stuff that nobody really wants to read, but you have to sort thru it to divide the trash from the things you do need. Personally, at least in the Forum section, I tend to use the "mark all as read" option quite often, just so I know what I've already decided to skip, along with what's current and what isn't the next time I visit.

Plain old flat earth FOX old guy pounding on the bar stuff isn’t considered political here- it is the staple.
BTW, I was deleted for calling out a guy who was disseminating disinformation from foreign intelligence services.
And calling out people for disseminating dangerously reckless public health opinions isn’t taken real well either.
