Re: Floor Talk April 8

"worries about extreme demand"   (in the soybean market)   There's a term that I don't think the US farmers have ever heard.......  Who would've thought that could happen after all the talk last year about demand destruction?.......and this year's talk of a record SA soybean harvest.........and predicted record US soybean acres and yields.    Again, let me repeat that......................................extreme demand.                 Smiley Wink

rt, you and i and sw and others knew

beans had extreme demand back in Oct/Nov last yr.--with the clip of china sales.........it just takes the EXPERTS a few months to catch on to reality.

Gio, I don't see how that would ever work without some time expiration.  When we were at all time highs, what would keep EVERYONE from loading up on put options to ride the price down, and vice versa when the price levels were at all time lows.  Unless these options are extremely expensive, I just don't see how it is capable of being a marketing tool.  I could have bought put options in 2012 and sold them during the fall of 2013 and retired with the money I was paid.  Just like MarketEye said, please share any additional information you might find.

Shaggy: Like most things out of Chitown, this would not be for the little guy.

This, like most things dealing with the CBOT and the stock exchanges has been corrupted to just be a casino for a few elete. Has nothing to do with price discovery or the actual commodity, just a way to skim money from the many for the benifit of the few. Just like HFT has nothing to do with anything but skimming a % off of the total.
