Floor Talk - August 21

Good morning! Still filling in for Mike the rest of the week. I'm not new to agriculture, but I'm in the process of learning more about marketing.. so bear with me! If you all have any marketing questions, please post them, and I'll do the best to find the answers for you.

 

At the close: 

The Dec. corn futures closed 1 1/2 cents higher at $3.69.
Nov. soybean futures are trading 1/4 of a cent higher at $10.38 1/4.

Dec. wheat futures are 5 1/2 cents higher at $5.55 1/2.

 

Dec. soybean meal is up $2.30 to close at $346.50.

Dec. soyoil is trading $.11 lower at $33.11.

At mid-session: 

The Dec. corn futures are trading 1 cent higher at $3.68 1/2.
Nov. soybean futures are trading 4 cents higher at $10.42.

Dec. wheat futures are 5 cents higher at $5.55.

 

Dec. soybean meal is up $2.40 to $346.60.

Dec. soyoil futures are trading $.19 higher at $33.41.

At the open:

The Dec. corn futures are trading 1 1/4 cents higher at $3.68 3/4.

Nov. soybean futures are trading 3/4 cents higher at $10.38 3/4.

Dec. wheat futures are 1 cent higher at $5.51.


In the outside markets, the crude oil is $.49 per barrel higher to $92.99, the dollar is lower by .0001, and the Dow Jones Industrials are 20 points higher to 16999.15 with the S&P 500 close to record.

At 7:20:

 

Early calls: Corn is looking 0-2 cents higher, soybeans 2-4 cents higher, and wheat 1-3 cents higher.

 

Trackers:
Overnight grain, soybean markets = Trading mostly lower.
Crude Oil = $.69 per barrel lower.
Dollar = Unchanged.
Wall Street = Seen higher  
World Markets = Europe stocks were higher, Asia/Pacific stocks were mostly lower.

 

Dow Jones = 59 points higher
