Re: Floor Talk August 22
Mike, just saw that the 'Brand X' crop tour found corn yields 21% lower than trend in Indiana and 14% lower than trend in Nebraska. What's everybody think? Is that right, or are they picking and choosing?

Re: Floor Talk August 22
I have corn that I bought from a neighbor way back when that was light test weight. I used it to blend in my hog feed. I moved it out of the bin into my bulk bins and there it sits. I don't know how long he had kept it, but it was from a very dry year. My kids would blend it in good corn as I sold it one year and I would pay them by the bucket. I think the bugs have eaten most of what was left.

My corn is so old it looks like wheat. Good wheat. It will still be fed.

Re: Floor Talk August 22
WTI (oil) sitting at $97.27 last I checked...Brent is just over $115... Any economic "recovery" is a fantasy with oil prices like these... Add in the sure to come high food prices (as the grain prices work into the system) and I wouldn't doubt we see some ugly economic reports in the months ahead.
Wonder how McDonalds (yes...i eat there) is going to pass off their $1 "mcdouble" (2 "beef" patties)...can they add more fillers? 🙂 It will be interesting as we head down the road to see how food industry handles all this. Throw in the $100 tank of gas to get to the drive thru 🙂
