Floor Talk - December 12

At the close:

 

March corn futures are trading 9 cents higher at $4.07 1/2 per bushel.
January soybean futures are trading 5 cents higher at $10.47 1/4.
March wheat futures are trading 9 cents higher to $6.06 1/2.

 

In the outside markets, the crude oil is $2.10 per barrel lower to $57.85, the dollar is lower, and the Dow Jones Industrials are 207 points lower to 17,388.

Grain markets are keeping their upward rally going, but U.S. stocks are taking a sharp plunge today with crude oil.

 

At 10:35:

 

March corn futures are trading 7 cents higher at $4.05 1/2 per bushel.
January soybean futures are trading 3 3/4 cents lower at $10.38 1/2.
March wheat futures are trading 14 1/4 cents higher to $6.11 3/4.

 

“Grain prices ended the day stronger as we are hearing reports that China will allow some imports of DDG’s, along with Russia talking about raising the price of its wheat to try and discourage exports,” says Cory Bratland, market analyst for Kluis Commodities.

 

In the outside markets, the crude oil is $1.85 per barrel lower to $58.10, the dollar is lower, and the Dow Jones Industrials are 201 points lower to 17,395.

The March corn futures are trading 6 1/2 cents higher at $4.13 per bushel.
January soybean futures are trading 4 1/2 cents higher at $10.46 3/4.

March wheat futures are trading 6 1/4 cents higher to $6.03 3/4.

In the outside markets, the crude oil is $1.17 per barrel lower to $58.78, the dollar is lower, and the Dow Jones Industrials are 81 points higher to 17,515.

Early calls: Corn is 6-8 cents higher, soybeans 5-7 cents higher and wheat is seen 8-10 cents higher.

Dollar = Lower
Wall Street = Trading lower. Dow is down 90 points to 17,419.
World Markets = Europe stocks are lower, Asia/Pacific stocks are mostly higher.
