illinifarmer,

Have you sold any of your old crop soybeans yet? And are you still sitting on all of your new crop? Or, have you found some points along the way to market a little.

It's really none of my business, I know that. Just thought, I would start a conversation on here about somebody doing something.

Thanks,

Mike

Re: Floor Talk, December 21, 2018

I sell throughout the year, mainly in the summer months if I have any available. Harvest is big bill months for new crop fertilizer, seed, rent for the following year. Lately with just trying to pay operations and loans to stay afloat. I’m a chart guy in a way, so I guess I follow what the price trend is. Example, this year was 25% sold pre-harvest. Still crops up over here, however I’m 80% sold now. Lots of debt piling up. Still have offers in for 4$ from two years ago never picked up due to continued rising basis at the local elevators. Meaning my end at 4$ corn. Without another bridge loan, i’m under operating cost for next year inevitably.
