Re: Floor Talk July 11

To all farmers on this site. I believe a corn and soybean growers association needs to be formed. Not one funded by seed companies or any members allowed that aren't producers. This associations purpose should be for one reason only, supply control and price support. No lobbying politicians, no promotion of product, just gaining control of the market for the good of the producer. Once the supply is controlled, negotiations with seed and chem companies for lower prices one company at a time. Seed company x and chem company Y doesn't want to get reasonable on pricing, they get boycotted for two years. Let their net worth tank and see how much more reasonable they can become. Cbot can't come up with a reasonable price, buy contracts back and squeeze the short traders who can't deliver. Association take delivery of commodities and place in storage owned by association, so short traders have to deliver. Cbot wants to throw association out of trading, association opens up corn trading floor, and all association corn traded exclusively at association trading floor. Cbot would be boycotted by producers. Soybeans also. This trading floor will be controlled by producers only. Traders would be welcome but not in control of board!
Is that a game you traders would like to play?

Re: Floor Talk July 11

Unsold corn is still about +20¢ over '17 harvest lows here in South Podunk country.

For all you current administration bashers...You seem to have conveniently forgot EVERYTHING in the first four years of the obummer regime was "Bush's fault", that also was the time line of record grain prices. Get your facts straight, $8 corn, $15  Beans had absolutely nothing to do with the liberals except the added tax revenue they spent, as well as another almost doubling of the national debt.

With the large drop on the CBOT for soybeans one might ask if the computer traders playing us are mostly speaking Mandarin.
