Which market?
The reference to 'the market' is something to note. Which market? I maintain there isn't 'a' market.
For instance, the 'market' in which China judges in its interest it is time to buy large quantities of corn or wheat (now), or the 'futures' in Chicago where it appears the judgment is there will be PLENTIFUL supplies at low or lower prices - eventually?
I put more weight on the dynamics of global trade and the developing crops globally than futures. IMO this view is more indicative than futures in planning my marketing in the future AND the moment. I don't evaluuate strictly by numbers but by the directions of various trends - like counting cards.

Re: Which market?
I agree Palouser. I completed a survey this morning sent by an "entity" whose mission is economic development in southern MN.
One of the questions was "What city has the most impact on your local economy?" I am sure they were looking for an answer like Rochester, Owatonna or Mankato. My answer = Beijing!!

Re: Which market?
The Conab (National Supply Company) report was just released. It says that Brazil will produce 44.2 million tons of corn, while the soybeans estimated are at 81.4 million tons - 22.7 percent higher than in the latest projection.

Re: Floor Talk July 9
Shaggy -- just think POSITIVE WAVES man ! Positive waves ! you think about bad things happening and they will -- see Last summer - I kept thinking - it was going to rain - its going to rain - you know - it did - just a month too late for my corn , but it rained --- the beans did OK ,lol
Here's another example - All them farmers in Norther Iowa - were probably saying to each other - was - man - it's just going quit raining - and what did it do ? And then they would say if it does quit - it probably won't rain the rest of the year ! i think I read that western Iowa is ??? doing what ?? drying up some -- there you go ! end of story .
