JUST LOST another 10 cents of +basis. Cash market is not in the mood to follow the traders in Chitown just yet. Right now the market in Chitown is up 11 and we here in South Podunk country are only seeing a penny of it.

Re: Floor Talk June 27
I pulled this off of another site that was taken today from the top of the south third of central Ill. A few posters have stated that corn if given rain will recover and make 150+. Therefore the comment he has posted
"Also, it is supposed to be 104 here and above 100 for the next four days will this hurt me as well?
Be glad that yours does not look this bad!
PS my eye height is about 5.5" so you can see how tall it is! "

Re: Floor Talk June 27
The frost got the cherries
The drought got the corn and beans
And you get the humor for the day award.
I'm thinking the ones telling him it'll recover are the ones that sold '12 fall delivery at <$5.00 75%of max production, One I know personally is a Pi*ne** dealer. Maybe he should look up "permeate wilt"?

Re: Floor Talk June 27
Hobby,
The pic looks like a spot where somebody planted 70K by mistake. But there is certainly plenty our way to send pics over in the 109 degree heat.
It is starting to look like an older guy here told me last year-----(worst heat and most dry year on record--this area) " 1954 was like this, didn't raise notin. Then in '55 & 6 it got worse."
My earliest memory is the blizzard of 57 that ended that drought. Killed half the cattle in the area. Spring snow and we were looking at snow piled over the roof line for 7 days on all 4 sides of the house. Good crops after that.

Those guys over there have been drinking the Kool aid put out by seed dealers for years and many plant in excess of 35,000 ... after all every year is a home run year for them. And now "strike one"
