July soybean futures ended 8¢ higher at $10.59 1/2. May wheat futures ended 4 1/4¢ lower at $4.86 1/2. May soy meal futures closed $5.10 per short ton higher at $375.50. January soy oil futures ended 0.47 higher at 32.22¢ per pound. In the outside markets, the NYMEX crude oil market is $0.65 lower, the U.S. dollar is lower, and the Dow Jones Industrials are 57 points lower.

Wheat futures were higher overnight as a seven-day weather map from the National Weather Service shows the area will get no rain, exacerbating the drought that's taken hold in the region. The hard-red winter wheat crop isn't in good shape and with little chance of rain in the next seven days, at least, it could get worse. Wheat rose 3-4 cents, beans were up about 3 cents and corn gained a penny overnight. Export inspections, meanwhile, improved week-to-week for corn while declining for soybeans and wheat. In weather news, the mid-south including parts of Arkansas, Mississippi and Tennessee that were hit by floods the past few weeks are now facing freeze warnings as temperatures tonight are expected to drop into the mid-20s tonight into Wednesday morning.
