Floor Talk March 15
Beans and corn were higher overnight, finally, after several days of losses as bargain hunters jumped on sub-$10 soybeans. Futures added about 7 cents while corn rose 3 cents overnight. Wheat was higher, rising about a nickel, as dry weather continues in the southern Plains and cold weather threatens some soft winter wheat in the eastern Midwest. A freeze advisory is in effect for pretty much the entire southeastern fourth of the country starting in northern Missouri and stretching all the way to Florida. I know it freezes in Florida occasionally, but it's rare.
Here's what happened overnight:
Brent Crude Oil = 1.9% higher.
West Texas Intermediate Crude Oil = 2.1% higher.
Dollar = down 0.1%.
Wall Street = U.S. stock futures higher in pre-bell trading.
World Markets = Global stocks higher as crude oil gets a bump.
