Floor Talk March 27
Soybeans and corn were a touch higher in overnight trading as negotiators from the U.S. and China try to hammer out a deal that would avoid tariffs on exchanged goods. Traders seem cautiously optimistic this morning with beans up about a nickel and corn up about 2 cents. Wheat was 1-2 cents lower overnight. Export inspections weren't good for the grains as examinations of corn and wheat for overseas delivery dropped week-to-week. Soybean inspections, however, improved from the prior seven days. In weather news, a very large storm stretching from east Texas to Indiana is slowly making its way through the region. Rain is a definite but hail and tornadoes are possible tomorrow, according to the National Weather Service. Brent Crude Oil = up 0.4%.
West Texas Intermediate = up 0.4%.
Dollar = up 0.5%
Wall Street = U.S. stock futures higher in pre-market trading.
World Markets = Global stocks higher overnight.

Here in the Heartland it is very cool. Next six nights to be below freezing-day time highs in the 40's and 50's. Well below normal. Precipitation this month has been normal. Some shallow tiles are starting to run. Moving forward with a cautious eye on the weather. I see a lot of grain headed for the E-plants.
