Floor Talk March 3
Wheat futures fell and corn and beans were slightly weaker overnight as the value of the dollar yesterday closed at its highest level in almost a month. Wheat lost about 4 cents, corn was down a penny and beans declined 2 cents. Exporters increased sales of soybeans week-over-week, but sales of corn and wheat both declined. In weather news, it's still extremely dry in the southern Plains, and has been for the past 30 days. Extremely low humidity combined with strong winds will mean fires spread quickly in parts of Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas.
Here's what happened overnight:
Brent Crude Oil = 0.3% higher.
West Texas Intermediate Crude Oil = 0.3% higher.
Dollar = down 0.2%.
Wall Street = U.S. stock futures mixed in pre-market trading.
World Markets = Global stocks mixed amid euro's rally despite bad economic data.
