Floor Talk, March 4, 2019
At midsession:
At midsession, the May futures are 2 1/4¢ higher at $3.75. July futures are 2 1/2¢ higher at $3.84.
May soybean futures are 7¢ higher at $9.18 1/2. July soybean futures are 6 3/4¢ higher at $9.32 1/2.
May wheat futures are 3/4¢ lower at $4.56.
May soymeal futures are 3.60 per short ton higher at $311.00. May soy oil futures are 0.03 lower at 30.16¢ per pound.
In the outside markets, the NYMEX crude oil market is $0.51 higher, the U.S. dollar is higher, and the Dow Jones Industrials are 304 points lower.
On Monday, Private exporters reported to the U.S. Department of Agriculture export sales of 100,500 metric tons of corn for delivery to Colombia during the 2018/2019 marketing year.
The marketing year for corn began Sept. 1.

In early trading, the May futures are 4¢ higher at $3.77. July futures are 4¢ higher at $3.85.
May soybean futures are 12 1/4¢ higher at $9.23 3/4. July soybean futures are 12¢ higher at $9.37 1/2.
May wheat futures are 1 1/2¢ higher at $4.58.
May soymeal futures are 4.40 per short ton higher at $311.80. May soy oil futures are 0.13 higher at 30.37¢ per pound.
In the outside markets, the NYMEX crude oil market is $1.10 higher, the U.S. dollar is higher, and the Dow Jones Industrials are 55 points higher.

Al Kluis, Kluis Advisors, says that investors are buying the soybean market.
“The news that President Trump and Premier XI may meet on March 27 is viewed as positive for the stock and commodity markets around the world,” Kluis told customers in a daily note.

While this China deal will certainly have short term effects, the real plus for American agriculture might just be in the future. You'd better work on that land deal sooner rather than later. Yeah.......I am a "glass half full" kind of guy.
