Jec22, that's just the thing. Traders think we are so far ahead, and by progress number released you could argue we are. But we have not had any warmth let alone heat since the end of march really. We planted corn march 30 that is only 3" high. Corns taking 17-18 days to emerge, a touch different than the 5-6 days it took last year. We are behind on gdu's. Plain and simple. My march 30 corn will NOT be ready for all these end users in August at this cold pace. We aren't that far ahead of anything besides sticking the corn in cold soils

EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!maybe we need some 80 day corn.....o wait that's sweet corn.....................

Glenlivet, You are correct.....those charts look beautiful. Just being a little cautious.....it comes down faster than it goes up.

MT, 80 day or 90 day it could still be late harvested if a late frost comes through.

 

Remember what they say, 'If you are going to replant you should get an early start'.
