Floor Talk May 2
Wheat futures were again lower overnight after jumping almost 20 cents to a nine-month high yesterday. Wheat was down 3-4 cents, corn lost less than a penny and beans were down about a nickel. NAFTA needs to be completed in the next three weeks or there may not be enough time for congressional approval of any ratified agreement, US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer said. In weather news, more storms are forecast for Nebraska and Iowa after tornadoes yesterday. The storms also are moving east into eastern Iowa today, according to the National Weather Service Get all the details in today's 3 Big Things.
Brent Crude Oil = down 0.3%.
West Texas Intermediate = up 0.1%.
Dollar = down 0.1%.
Wall Street = U.S. stock higher pre-market.
World Markets = Global stocks higher overnight.

Some local farmers are done with both corn and soybeans and most are done with corn. I haven't started, but I'm in line because I'm having a neighbor plant my soybeans in narrow rows this year - trying to address weed pressure.
The coming rain will inconvenience some but many will find the timing perfect.

Jmo...$130cwt fat cattle....not crazy high but definitely higher. Grains too,.just solidly higher trend.
