Floor Talk November 18

Soybeans and corn were lower overnight as the dollar jumps to a fresh 13-year high, curbing the purchasing power of overseas buyers and leaving some wondering if they'll keep buying. They did last week as export sales were strong again. China jumped in for another 1.69 million metric tons of soybeans and corn sales topped a million tons. The Upper Midwest is getting hammered by a blizzard that could drop as much of a foot of snow in some areas, the NWS said.

Here's what happened overnight:

Brent Crude Oil = 0.7% higher.
West Texas Intermediate Crude Oil = 0.7% higher.

Dollar = up 0.2%.

Wall Street = U.S. stock futures modestly higher in overnight trading.
World Markets = Global stocks lower as US dollar strengthens.

Re: Floor Talk November 18

I wonder if there will be any grain caught out in the field if it snows as forecast.  Anyone know the harvest progress in that part of the country?  I could check the USDA numbers but I gotta run.  Maybe I can later.
