Floor Talk November 28

At the close:

At the close, the December corn futures settled 3/4¢ lower at $3.48 1/2, while March futures finished unchanged at $3.58 1/4 per bushel. January soybean futures finished 10¢ higher at $10.56, while March soybean futures closed 10¢ higher at $10.64 1/2. March wheat futures ended 3¢ lower at $4.16 1/2. January soy meal futures finished $5.10 short ton higher at $328.20. January soy oil futures closed $0.03 higher at 36.97¢ per pound.  In the outside markets, the Brent crude oil market is $1.09 per barrel higher, the U.S. dollar is lower, and the Dow Jones Industrials are 35 points lower.

At mid-session:

At mid-session, the December corn futures are 1 1/2¢ lower at $3.47 3/4, while March futures are 1¢ lower at $3.57 1/4 per bushel. January soybean futures are 2 1/2¢ higher at $10.48 1/2, while March soybean futures are 2¢ higher at $10.57. March wheat futures are 2¢ lower at $4.17 1/2. January soy meal futures are $2.20 short ton higher at $325.30. January soy oil futures are $0.10 lower at 36.84¢ per pound.  In the outside markets, the Brent crude oil market is $1.12 per barrel higher, the U.S. dollar is higher, and the Dow Jones Industrials are 67 points lower.

 

Alan Brugler, President of Brugler Marketing & Management LLC, says that the soybean market’s rally has faded due to the U.S. Dollar.
“The dollar has rallied back from overnight lows.  Strength in major buyer Japan currency also faded. Weekly export inspections were much smaller than last week, albeit above year ago for this week,” Brugler says.

In early trading, the December corn futures are 1 3/4¢ lower at $3.47, while March futures are 1 1/2¢ lower at $3.56 3/4 per bushel. January soybean futures are 11 1/2¢ higher at $10.57 1/2, while March soybean futures are 12¢ higher at $10.66. March wheat futures are 3 1/2¢ lower at $4.16. January soy meal futures are $1.70 short ton higher at $324.80. January soy oil futures are $0.41 higher at 37.35¢ per pound.  In the outside markets, the Brent crude oil market is $1.06 per barrel higher, the U.S. dollar is higher, and the Dow Jones Industrials are 50 points lower.
