Floor Talk, November 5, 2019

At the close:

 

At the close, the Dec. corn futures finished 1 1/4¢ lower at $3.81 3/4. March corn futures settled 1 3/4¢ lower at $3.91 3/4.

Jan. soybean futures closed 3 3/4¢ lower at $9.34 1/4. March soybean futures finished 4¢ lower at $9.47 1/4.

Dec. wheat futures closed 5 1/4¢ higher at $5.15 1/4.



December soymeal futures finished $0.30 per short ton higher at $302.70.

 December soy oil futures closed 0.30 cents lower at 31.57¢ per pound.



In the outside markets, the NYMEX crude oil market is $0.66 per barrel higher, the U.S. dollar is higher, and the Dow Jones Industrials are 83 points higher.

At midsession:

At midsession, the Dec. corn futures are 2 1/4¢ lower at $3.81. March corn futures are 2 1/2¢ lower at $3.91.

Jan. soybean futures are 4 3/4¢ lower at $9.33. March soybean futures are 4 3/4¢ lower at $9.46.

Dec. wheat futures are 1 1/4¢ higher at $5.11.



December soymeal futures are unchanged per short ton lower at $302.40.

 December soy oil futures are 0.25 cents lower at 31.62¢ per pound.



In the outside markets, the NYMEX crude oil market is $0.60 per barrel higher, the U.S. dollar is higher, and the Dow Jones Industrials are 46 points higher.

 December soy oil futures are 0.26 cents lower at 31.61¢ per pound.



In the outside markets, the NYMEX crude oil market is $0.61 per barrel higher, the U.S. dollar is higher, and the Dow Jones Industrials are 44 points higher.


Britt O'Connell, Cash Advisor for Commodity Risk Management Group, says that investors are keeping trades close to the vest.

“Not much chatter today in the markets. Some pre-report positioning is all I imagine we see this week - likely very quiet trade,” O’Connell says.
