Floor Talk November 6, 2020 (Election Week)

At the close:

At the close, the Dec. corn futures closed 2 1/2¢ lower at $4.06 1/2. March corn futures ended 1¢ lower at $4.13 3/4.

January soybean futures closed 2 1/4¢ lower at $11.01 1/4. March soybean futures finished 1 1/4¢ higher at $10.99 1/4.

Dec. wheat futures closed 7 1/4¢ lower at $6.02.

Dec. soymeal futures closed $5.40 per short ton lower at $382.40.


Dec. soy oil futures ended 0.13 cent lower at 35.34¢ per pound.



In the outside markets, the NYMEX crude oil market is $1.67 per barrel lower (4.31%) at $37.12. The U.S. dollar is lower, and the Dow Jones Industrials are 88 points (0.31%) lower at 28,301 points.

At midsession, the Dec. corn futures are 1 3/4¢ lower at $4.07 1/2. March corn futures are 1/2¢ lower at $4.14 3/4.

January soybean futures are 1 1/2¢ lower at $11.02 1/4. March soybean futures are 1/4¢ higher at $10.98 1/4.

Dec. wheat futures are 4¢ lower at $6.05 1/4.


Dec. soymeal futures are $4.30 per short ton lower at $383.50.



Dec. soy oil futures are 0.04 cent lower at 35.43¢ per pound.



In the outside markets, the NYMEX crude oil market is $1.39 per barrel lower (3.58%) at $37.40. The U.S. dollar is lower, and the Dow Jones Industrials are 24 points lower at 28,366 points.

Hope for a late fall and early spring to keep rivers open for barge traffic.

Burdensome supply maybe isn't?

Our 50 day reserve supply of corn may get to be a just in time thing in many places? Or not.

Livestock in confinement don't react well with every other day feedings.
