Re: Floor Talk October 19

Lots of wheat planted and wheat has at least nine lives. Kansas is short of moisture in a lot of places but the rain event that moved through last weekend helped a lot of places with emergence. More continuous wheat here at the expenses of 2013 corn, milo, and beans. I think the bigger question is how much wheat was planted into failed corn acres in the I states that will then be double cropped to beans next year.

Re: Floor Talk October 19

i have to agree with hobby a 100 % on informa's BS , boy are they user friendly ! but I guess they are the ones paying the bill's there So . lol

But go back to last fall , IN ,OH and parts of IL did not get there wheat in -- to wet last fall , IN was like 300,000 less wheat , about the same for OH. don't know about IL .

This year around here , there are guy's planting wheat that never have done it . But as like last fall , wheat is slow going in , beans were just ready to cut and now its raining again , but even if we just go back to average year then there goes 300,000 or so of corn ground . that is just IN .

Corn on corn guys here took another hit , talkeing the same deal more beans .  Let's not forget , it costs a boat load to put out corn , how much money will there be to plant it , being that for the most part , alot of short crops here .

Will there be enought of the -- good seed to plant all them acres ? they say there will be , but heres the kick in the pants -- have been told that if they couldn't get all the numbers I wanted they have some others that will work just OK , wait a minute here ! If they are just as good , then why didn't want to sell them to me in the first place ??

Look at the drought maps , last year I read that in Iowa when they started the year below average subsoil moisture that 7 out of 10 years were below trendline yields , and one was average , sure looks like they are headed there again if it don't start raining and soon ..

All done here and can't wait for the next adventure to begin !

Bucyrus North Dakota I believe I spelled it right.  I better not complain about the rainy weather.   No matter how bad you got it it seems someone else has it worse.

Re: Floor Talk October 19

The Informa numbers. OH MY GOSH. beyond value and words. i'm utterly impressed and amazed that they go through all that hard wok to give the mkts this invaluable, such pertinent information. I simply don't know where these markets or farmers would be without this, business-wise. It must have taken their mathematicians, statisticians, ALL their analysts weeks of calculations and labor to arrive at the final result...and we get these numbers for FREE...WOW..no other words to describe. Please thank them for me/us.

Re: Floor Talk October 19

Lots of wheat planted in Ontario too and it is looking great already with chance of more growth yet.

Mostly soft red planted here.

Not sure if we will break the old record for planted area but will have a nice bit more than last year.

Stage is set for a great crop so far but of course it is early yet so lots can go wrong.
