Floor Talk October 26

At the close:

At the close, the Dec. corn futures settled 4 3/4 cents higher at $3.84 1/2.  Nov. soybean futures finished 10 1/2 cents lower at $8.85.
Dec. wheat futures closed 18 1/2 cents higher at $5.09.
Dec. soymeal futures settled $2.90 per short ton lower at $302.20. Dec. soyoil futures closed $0.79 lower at $27.78 
In the outside markets, the Brent Crude oil market is $0.67 lower per barrel, the U.S. dollar is lower, and the Dow Jones Industrials are 38 points lower.

At mid-day:

At mid-day, the Dec. corn futures are trading 5 1/4 cents higher at $3.85.  Nov. soybean futures are trading 8 1/4 cents lower at $8.87.
Dec. wheat futures are trading 18 1/2 cents higher at $5.09.
Dec. soymeal futures are $3.60 per short ton lower at $301.50. Dec. soyoil futures are trading $0.43 lower at $28.14 
In the outside markets, the Brent Crude oil market is $0.50 lower per barrel, the U.S. dollar is lower, and the Dow Jones Industrials are 17 points lower.

At the open:

At the open, the Dec. corn futures are trading 1 cent lower at $3.78.  Nov. soybean futures are trading 7 cents lower at $8.88.
Dec. wheat futures are trading 6 cents higher at $4.96.
Dec. soymeal futures are $1.30 per short ton lower at $303.80. Dec. soyoil futures are trading $0.36 lower at $28.21. 
In the outside markets, the Brent Crude oil market is $0.29 lower per barrel, the U.S. dollar is higher, and the Dow Jones Industrials are 6 points higher.

At 7:40am:

If you missed it, Friday's Committment of Trader's Report showed that the corn market lost 61,700 net contracts vs. the trade's expectations of 3,000 net loss. The soybean market had 2,200 net gain vs. thoughts of 17,000 net loss. Meal and oil had sharper longs than expected: Chi wheat liquidated 38,600 net contracts vs. the trade expecting a drop of 11,000 net. Producers and merchants added nearly 39,000 net corn longs & near 33,500 net Chi wheat longs.

At 7:25am:

 

Early calls: Corn 1-2 cents lower, soybeans 3-5 cents lower and wheat 3-5 cents higher.

 

Trackers:
Overnight grain, soybean markets = Trading mostly lower.
Brent Crude Oil = $0.02 higher.
Dollar =Lower.  
Wall Street = Seen lower with more earnings eyed.

World Markets = Europe stocks were mostly lower, Asia/Pacific stocks were mostly higher.
