Floor Talk October 3

Corn was up a quarter-cent and beans rose 1/2 cent in overnight trading as investors can't decide to bet against the accelerated harvest or for reports of less-than-stellar crops. The weather should cooperate, mostly, for the next few days, though some rain is forecast for parts of Iow and Illinois starting tomorrow. Flooding is still a problem along the Mississippi River on the Iowa-Illinois border, though levels are receding.

Here's what happened overnight:

Brent Crude Oil = 0.7% higher.
West Texas Intermediate Crude Oil = 0.7% higher.

Dollar = up 0.1%.

Wall Street = U.S. stock futures little changed in overnight trading.
World Markets = Global stocks higher as crude rises.

Re: Floor Talk October 3

Looks like Dec corn will settle at $3.46 (not official), up 9, beans up 20, meal up $9.40, wheat dn 7, KC dn 10, MN up 3

Close of Dec corn above $3.46 would be impressive, esp if it can confirm tomorrow.

Soybeans bounce off area of support on strong demand

Hobby,   Im just reading that latest South America report that came on marketing today and It confirms my thoughts that the movement of corn and delays might just have us at a hand to mouth position..

We are far from "realizing" this "minnesota childrens above average" crop...
