Floor Talk September 25, 2020

At the close:

At the close, the Dec. corn futures finished 1 1/4¢ higher at $3.65 1/2. March corn futures ended 1¢ higher at $3.73 1/4.

Nov. soybean futures settled 2 1/2¢ higher at $10.02 3/4. January soybean futures closed 3¢ higher at $10.06 1/4.

Dec. wheat futures ended 5 1/2¢ lower at $5.44 1/2.

Dec. soymeal futures finished $2.10 per short ton higher at $338.60.

 Dec. soy oil futures settled $0.41 cent higher at 32.82¢ per pound.

n the outside markets, the NYMEX crude oil market is $0.08 per barrel lower at $40.23. The U.S. dollar is higher, and the Dow Jones Industrials are 259 points higher.

At midsession:

At midsession, the Dec. corn futures are 3 1/4¢ higher at $3.66 1/2. March corn futures are 2 3/4¢ higher at $3.75.

Nov. soybean futures are 5 1/2¢ higher at $10.05 3/4. January soybean futures are 5 3/4¢ higher at $10.09.

Dec. wheat futures are 4¢ lower at $5.45 1/2.

Dec. soymeal futures are $2.70 per short ton higher at $339.20.

Dec. soy oil futures are $0.56 cent higher at 32.97¢ per pound.



In the outside markets, the NYMEX crude oil market is $0.24 per barrel lower at $40.07. The U.S. dollar is higher, and the Dow Jones Industrials are 75 points higher.

At 9am:

 

My friends in Brazil are reporting that soybean IMPORTS are increasing, in that South American country.

In 2019, 144,000 tons were imported. So far, in 2020, 493,000 tons of soybeans have been IMPORTED.

Right now, Brazil is getting the beans from Paraguay and some from Argentina. However, if this keeps happening, China is going to have a competitor for U.S. beans.
