Bulls won't like this post but they never do. Scouted a lot of corn today. Most corn planted after the snow event is in the V3-V5 stage. In our area. Those plants are determining how many kernels around this week. Temps have warmed up, sun is shining, and they have plenty of moisture. What do you think that plant is thinking?? There are millions of acres planted in the same window. Granted if your corn is in standing water, it's thinking something different. Or worse yet, if your corn is still in the bag, I feel for you.

Yes, we have some problems, but we do every year. For those of you chirping that 12B is gone, you don't know anything about production AG. To write the crop off on June 11 is fools gold.

It's as simple as this, the 14 days of pollination for this crop is going to be a make or break deal. If you can tell me what the weather is gonna do from July 25 to August 10, you stand to make a lot of money.

This crop still has a lot of potential. Flame away, I know you will.

Good week to be pollinating wrestler:). Your crop is going to get scorched in the heat and mine is going to get frozen off. Looks like we will both be in a losing situation;)

Your hardly at the finish line. V4 is what? The initiation of an ear? You can still reduce yield from v8 to vt even if you set a big ear now. Hell, you can set big kernels and have them pollinate, and then abort.

I'd hardly say things are set, especially since corn can't recover lost yield lie, say cotton.

Everyone had 200bpa corn everywhere last year, but look what happened.

What is the corn thinking? Anyone that knows corn, knows that it can't think.  Also, those that are chirping that the 12 billion bushel corn crop is gone, also know that 12 billion bushels are alot of bushels and with the lost acres, it will still take some mighty good yields to even reach 12 billion bushels.

Plus, you can write off any acres of corn that aren't planted yet.
