Well in recent history, the biodiesel tax credit was allowed to expire earlier this year.  Besides the ethanol blenders credit is not really an ag subsidy because it goes to the oil companies that blend ethanol in with gas.  If the oil companies are mandated to blend ethanol, why should they get a a credit incentive to do it?

Most programs with requirements have a form of quid pro quo. It's been the backbone of every ag program. And it has generally been a bipartisan program, regardless of party rhetoric or 'principle'.
