Re: From the floor September 10

Carryout on corn 1.116 vs ave. trade est. 1.125 = neutral

beans 350 vs 304 = 15% increase, pretty bearish

beans down hard and could bring corn down with it

D7, FWIW - Both of my good silage contacts were given 5-10 bushel higher insurance adjustments than last year.

Re: From the floor September 10

Mike,

The USDA report today was a good news to Brazil. In domestic market the corn price should improve still more. In the last 30 days the price jumped from R$ 17 to R$ 21/bag (60 kg), the equivalent U$ 8,5 to U$ 11 per bag or U$ 3,5 to U$ 4,6 per bushel. Information from USDA about the corn should estimulate more export. The Brazil intend embark 10,50 mmt of corn to other countries.

Re: From the floor September 10

Giovani,

So, the Brazilian corn market has jumped from $8.50 per bag to $11.00, equivalent to $3.50 to $4.60 per bushel. Also, you say because the USDA is lowering its corn crop, this will open the door for more Brazilian corn exports? Brazil plans to export 10.50 mmt of corn?

Also, as I walk the floor and talk to traders, they are saying watch Brazil's planting season. So, can you tell us where the planting starts first, then the area that follows, and the third area and on and on? Plus, can you include moisture in those particular areas? This would be interesting to hear about.
