Grains, Dow up I credit Iowa Dem caucus

🙂  Iowa Dems messed up their chances, so markets react positively.   On a non-market note, I bet this is it for Iowa`s first in nation and probably the end of the caucus form of picking our next leaders.

Got the impression from listening to coverage last nite that they had

a system that worked but somebody thought he got the shaft last time,

didn't like it and worked to have changes made.

They must have used the same tech developers that screwed up MN's

licensing system.  Didn't have a very good backup plan either.

Dem's sure gave Iowa's future economy a bad hit - can I "short" Pizza Ranch?

2016 Ted Cruz triumphs over Donald Trump.  Trump” he cheated!, it’s rigged, he stole it from me.  Serious changes coming.!” Amazing progress (sarcasm).  The Dow is rallying on the progress and containment of the Coronavirus for the forth time in as many days. Wow, shocking.  More get sick and die and the rich find a way to spin news and profits in their favor.  Almost comparable to the 400+ days they traded up on rumors of trade deal progress, good talks, possible signings, meetings and much more BS, that clearly was the benefit of the people.  Hilarious 😂

Re: Grains, Dow up I credit Iowa Dem caucus

As I said a couple of weeks ago, I have no interest in playing in the waves of the stock market when there's an epic cross current between the the coronavirus and Fed funny money tsunamis.

The former aside, when Greenspan went super loose in '99, the market destroyed anybody who stood in the way before finally burning itself out. But end it did, to the ultimate benefit of few and harm to many.

The economy was quite a lot better then, though- 4% growth achieved on a balanced budget vs. 2% that requires a $T deficit.

But it isn;t about the economy, it is about liquidity and the spigot will remain open and maybe even opener.

Re: Grains, Dow up I credit Iowa Dem caucus

There's a lot to discuss about Greenspan's legacy but any conversation in the current hyper polarized environment is pointless.

But the extreme policy looseness was justified, for better or worse, as a response to LTCM and the Russian debt crisis, and concerns about Y2K. The incumbent was not running for re-election.

The current money flush is in response to self-forced errors and an election.

Kind of with you sd on the market playing thing.

We took the 27% average gain on our investments from 2019 and

shifted to guaranteed returns to take some risk off the table.

Plan to sit tight and watch what happens after the 30 days passes and the

Phase One agreement goes into effect.

As on display here, market commentary will be fully weaponized over the next 9 months.

When it is up, proof BEST ECONOMY EVER!!!!

When it is down, because the socialists are coming to take your stuff.

In truth, just a massive liquidity injection vs. the other cross currents.

BTW, I'd be a little cautious hoping for much from Phase 1, regardless what chatter is put forth.

BTW also, the huge wealth building move of the stock market was in the 90s.

Since then it is down, up, down, up with a mean gain a tad better than T-Bills.

Prudent rebalancing has improved on that basic index return.

It will revert to below the mean at some point, although I hear the Davos Elite was pretty comfortable that their central bankers had fixed all that.
