Harvest Blues
Started on soybeans, about 2 weeks earlier than usual. Southeast South Dakota, about 80 miles WSW of Sioux Falls. They went from 15% moisture to 9% in about 5 days! Stems are still green in many places, also some with green stems and leaves and brown pods. First field, APH 52, actual yield 29.

Re: Harvest Blues
My beans are a bearcat to drydown this year. 13.4% but you get into 17% quickly even on hills. And I didn`t fungicide them.

"Contracts will need to be made prior to delivery. We apologize for the short notice but please call 515-263-3250 with any questions "
Price down
Basis negative
Almost a 50¢ gouge on top of it.
Nothing like making a bin pmt and still not having one.
Oh yeah getting to wait in line to do it.
Think I'll continue to be a farmer, I'll let the "growers" compete for that prize.

Re: Harvest Blues
I found some "rust" in the bean field, about 4 ft rod making one heck of a racket, the cylinder was rubbing on it. I must confess, I didn`t find it without the aid of a John Deere tech $$$ 😀

Re: Harvest Blues
Harvest GREENS will be what I'll get in several fields. Hard freeze in three nights will finish those green beans off. Already had two frostings last week that burnt them pretty good.
Was just a light coloring of the upper leaves before that. Had a few of the same thing few years ago and although they looked green to me the scale/probe people said they were not "green" and no dockage. Hoping for that again.
This year they were replants and the late rains confused them. Our frosts and upcoming freeze is earlier than average. (Oct 11).
Had a crop adjuster here this morning measuring bins. He looked around and said "see you after harvest."...
