Hobbies Tib Bits - From Indiana

Boy this guy had a BAD day - First off - Driver is OK - This was just North of us - Truck was going to Bunge and was loaded - you drop down a hill to the crossing which s pretty much blind till you get to the track - The truck ran into the train = No lights was blinking till train started threw the crossing was the report .

MORRISTOWN, Ind. (WISH) – A train struck a semi-truck before 11 a.m. on Friday morning at U.S. 52 and Rangeline Road.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Department is reporting that there are no injuries.

Police believe it may be a CSX train.

The train tracks were shutdown due to the accident.

Now maybe they will make that road go over the track like they said they were going to do years ago. I always cross on the road to the east where you can see.

Have to love the municipal system in this country the whole wait till there is a disaster to correct. Local road out here no stop sign at intersection for 30 years first crash with a death now there is a stop sign to bad for the victims sacrifice for the greater good unfortunate

Same here in local township.....every intersection now having a stop sign has had traffic death in last 15 yrs !!!!

totally agree Illinifarmer,

 

Funny how we build for yesterdays traffic patterns instead of tomorrows.

 

And that irony is trumped by the drivers who, at an unmarked county intersection will perceive the danger and expect an accident until you put up stop signs, then a good % quit feel protected and won't look or stop.  🙂  Human nature........

SW....the stop sign does not prevent the accident....just gives you right to place blame after the next one!!!!!
