How Far Below The Board ...

We've been hearing that prices are way under the board. What kind of basis are you seeing, and what kind of cash are they offering? If it's well below the board, are you holding onto supplies right now or are you selling on spikes, if there are any spikes?

How bad is it out there?

Re: How Far Below The Board ...

Local Gavilon is -36¢ on corn and -75¢ on beans.  They let us keep a pretty good chunk of the recent gains in beans, maybe widened it a dime or 15¢ during the rally.

Re: How Far Below The Board ...

If it were todays board prices, I would hold and hope they get better. With the weather this year so far, I am not inclined to think we will not raise what the USDA is projecting. I may be wrong, but I think prices will be higher at some point before harvest.

Re: How Far Below The Board ...

Explain....usually when basis is wide, we are told
The market doesn't want the product.

OK tell me why beans have been going up
And basis is wider....it was 85 now over a dollar
And beans went up, which should mean demand.

Or is the coop lining it's pockets with gold
