Iceland's volcanos, cool summer?
Iceland has recently experienced a swarm of mini earthquakes suggesting that volcanos there may soon erupt. We all know that a significant volcanic eruption can lead to a cooler than normal growing season.
Do we have to worry about the possibility of a short crop this year?

Always the possibility of a short crop any year before planting.
Can always be a #4 or above any given year.
2 wet
2 long
= #4
2 dry
2 long
=#4
2 hot
2 long
=#4
2 hot
2 dry
2 long
= #6
And so it goes,
place your bets...

Re: Iceland's volcanos, cool summer?
I looked it up and Iceland`s last earthquake/volcano dealy bob was in 2008. For us 2009 was a devil of a year, the corn just would not get drier than 32% in the field and it had little flakes of black mold that came off during drying though. It was a cool summer, corn prices weren`t reflecting the mess that was coming 20/20 in harvest. I got spooked and contracted corn in late summer and it was a poor decision, prices rallied off the combine and after.
I guess that`s one of my experiences that makes me slow to get beared up too soon and let my crop be stolen. They`re gonna steal it regardless, but at least have the guts to look me in the eye when you take it, not a weasely "contract" that I signed out of fear.

What, we can't blame climate change on humans.
