Re: If Brazil collapses

If Brazil collapses then ocean levels should rise about 5/8" of an inch..........

If Brazil collapses world food supply will change very little.... it will just be called the new outback.

If Brazil collapses on a government scale....... it will be a very short fall, the token government has just been there to sell off assets to Harvard & co.

If Brazil collapses governmentally the tide of illegal immigrants might get sucked south with the surge in economic activity in the new Brazil.  Especially if any sense of credibility follows.

Communism will continue to exploit the two biggest concentrations of poverty in the world. Pimping labor to the lazy democratic rich in the rest of the world........... very little will change to fund the illusion of socialist success.

Re: If Brazil collapses

"Brazil is the country of the future and will always be".   I doubt Covid  (+99% survivable)  would even make their top 10 of things that would take them out and they don`t appeared to be over reacting throwing money on it like other so-called developed countries (which is probably the US`s final nail in our coffin).  But all the stuff Brazil is really bad at, why do they have to be so darned good at raising beans???

BA is a pandemicidal propagandist.

But just named AFBF Man of the Year for helping set in motion a chain of events that culminated in a huge surge in NFI.

Re: If Brazil collapses

Athough the situation in Brazil differs somewhat.

In some ways it is like the early days of the pandemic here, where the former administration believed that it was just confined to people who they didn't care about, so what's not to like? And in BRA, only a few percent matter much at all and they can probably get vaccinated. Thinning out the favelas and indigenous folks isn't such a bad thing.

But they really don't have one advantage that we had- the capacity to borrow an absolutely unprecedented pot of cash to spread out in the biggest crony capitalist binge in history.

Re: If Brazil collapses

China euthanized quietly anyone with a temperature over 100°.  They had a issue of too many elderly and protesters in Hong Kong...problem solved and they may get an award for handling their pandemic so efficiently out of the deal.  Clap clap clap

Meanwhile in the US we`ve spent $6 Trillion and aren`t out of the woods yet.  WWII cost $4 Trillion in 2021 dollars for perspective.

Re: If Brazil collapses

The former admin had no problem with spending $3T when the stock market was crashing and their re-election was in doubt.

At least this pot goes more to people, although I'm absolutely certain that a few M of the 74.5M electoral minority were swayed by getting a personal check from the POTUS.

A lot of middle income countries and BRA in particular have historically been very good at vaccinations and public health. It is vastly cheaper and more effective than interventional healthcare. In this country our medical and agricultureal policy is set to produce chronic disease because the treatment of it is a huge industry.

Re: If Brazil collapses

BTW, we were spending close to 50% of GDP on the war effort in '43 and '44.
